Amy with One A is a passionate aerial dancer, instructor, and choreographer who embodies grace and strength in her performances.

As an accomplished artist, Amy's performances are a seamless fusion of athleticism and artistry. Her personal bio is a testament to her dedication and love for the art of aerial dance. Performance

Amy is currently in her tenth season as an aerialist and rehearsal director for Blue Lapis Light, a site specific aerial dance company, and an independent performer choreographer. She has collaborated with/danced for several other companies, including Cirque Vida, Blipswitch, Contemporary Dance Fort Worth, Jennifer Sherburn, Ellen Bartel, and many more. Amy has also worked as a dancer/aerialist with several music groups on live performance and music videos. Artists include Kesha, Sorne, Knifight, Nightdrive, Band of Heathens, Golden Dawn Arkestra, and more. She performs on harness, silks, sling, bungee, cube, lyra, and the occassional invented apparatus (like her bungee loops)

Instruction

Amy offers workshops and private instruction on a variety of topics including flow, choreography, improvisation, virtual creation (basic video creation and editing), C-shaping, self care, bungee teacher training, and more. Her education and career as both a dancer and bodyworker inform her teaching methods. Major influences come from Limon, Laban, and Thai massage.

Choreography

Aside from her solo work, Amy has also choreographed ensemble pieces for Kesha's Lyric video for "Here Comes the Change", the activation of Austin's Line Hotel, Ellen Bartel Dance Collective, Jennifer Sherburn's Eleven Eleven project, Contemporary Dance Fort Worth, the Sky Candy studio company, and many others. Her most recent collaboration with Allyssa Johnson and John Gable, a dance film called LIMINA, premiered at International Dance Film Festival New Orleans in 2024.

Amy's dedication to her craft is evident through her continuous training and participation in workshops conducted by esteemed institutions and instructors, shaping her into the exceptional artist she is today. She has studied with Paul Taylor Dance Company, Cirque Vida, Paper Doll Militia, Fernando Bujones, Debbie Allen, Rene Harris Pure Movement, and many more.

Amy's artistry extends beyond her aerial performances, encompassing a range of special skills that enrich her storytelling on stage, making her a versatile and captivating performer. She is an avid climber, swimmer, and cyclist. On rest days, she can be found baking, soap-making, gardening, or knitting. She also works as a stage lighting tech and stage manager. Amy is also TABC certified for aerial bartending.
